THE REAL SITUATION

You found the event, but the domestic ticket path stops you.

The page may ask for a Japanese phone number, a domestic account, a supported electronic-ticket app, or a payment method that does not work from overseas. The event may still have a separate official route for international visitors.

The short answer

Start with the organiser, artist, venue, or event's official page, not with a generic resale search. Look for an international sales link for that exact performance. If none is shown, ask whether overseas sales, venue collection, or another official release will be offered.

The rule that matters

A ticket platform's general capabilities do not guarantee that a particular event is available to overseas buyers. The event-specific sales page controls.

Use this five-gate check

1 · Sales route

Does the official event page link to an international sale, or only to a Japanese domestic sale?

2 · Account and phone

Must you verify a phone number now, and will the same number be needed again for login, receipt, transfer, or resale?

3 · Payment

Which overseas-issued cards or other payment methods are accepted, and is the charge completed or only temporarily authorised?

4 · Ticket delivery

Will you receive a QR code, collect a paper ticket, or use a specific mobile app tied to your number and device?

5 · Entry

Will the venue check the purchaser's name, ID, phone, companion distribution, or the original account?

Where to look, in order

  1. The event or artist's official page. Open the ticket notice for the exact date and venue.
  2. The organiser or promoter. They decide whether an overseas allocation or venue collection is offered.
  3. The international version of the named ticket platform. Search for the same event, not just the artist's name.
  4. The venue's official information. Check whether same-day sales or a box-office collection route is explicitly announced.
  5. The ticket issuer's event-specific notes. Read phone, app, device, transfer, and identity conditions before payment.

What current official pages show

eplus operates an international site for customers living overseas and states that its international route supports English and Chinese and accepts certain overseas-issued cards. That does not mean every eplus event appears there; its FAQ tells buyers to check each event's official page.

Ticket PIA explains that phone authentication may be required at registration, purchase, ticket receipt, resale purchase, or app login. Lawson Ticket states that, for covered electronic tickets, the number entered when applying may need to match the smartphone that receives the ticket, and some overseas numbers or devices are not supported.

These examples show why buying first and solving the phone issue later can fail. Always read the rules for the exact event and ticket type.

I live outside Japan and do not have a Japanese phone number. Is there an official sales page for overseas residents or an official venue-collection option for this performance? Will the phone number entered during purchase also be required to receive the electronic ticket or enter the venue?

Prepare these details before asking

  • Official event or artist page
  • Performance date and venue
  • Ticket platform named by the organiser
  • Exact error or restriction, with personal details removed
  • Your country of residence and whether you will have a reachable phone in Japan
  • Whether you need one ticket or companion distribution

Do not use these shortcuts

  • Do not enter a hotel, friend's, or made-up number when the ticket may later require SMS, app login, or device matching.
  • Do not give a helper your password, one-time code, card details, or account recovery access.
  • Do not assume that installing the ticket app means your phone and number are supported.
  • Do not treat an unofficial proxy or resale listing as guaranteed entry.
  • Do not pay until the delivery method and identity requirements are clear.
